CoinBar is a macOS market monitoring app. We try to follow a local-first, minimal-processing approach wherever practical, and we do not require a CoinBar account for the core app experience.

What CoinBar Handles

  • Data you create in the app, such as watchlists, alert rules, portfolio entries, and settings.
  • Technical request information needed to load quotes, icons, and market metadata. Those requests are usually handled by the relevant third-party data source or infrastructure provider.
  • Subscription-related information if you purchase or restore CoinBar Pro through Apple App Store and RevenueCat.
  • Diagnostic information used by Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for baseline analytics and crash reporting.

Local-First and Permissions

  • Most app data is stored primarily on your Mac.
  • CoinBar does not currently provide a CoinBar account system or first-party cloud sync.
  • Notification permission is used only for local price alerts.
  • CoinBar does not require exchange API keys and does not execute trades on your behalf.

Third-Party Services and Data Sources

  • Market quotes, search results, icons, and related metadata may come from Binance, Binance Alpha, OKX, CoinGecko, or later replacement providers.
  • Subscription functionality currently depends on Apple App Store and RevenueCat.
  • Diagnostics and baseline usage analytics currently depend on Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
  • These third parties may process technical data, device data, purchase state, or request logs under their own privacy policies.

Website, Retention, and Updates

  • The current website is primarily a static product site. It does not require login and does not directly collect your payment card information on the website.
  • Hosting, CDN, and infrastructure providers may still process standard technical request data.
  • You can reduce future processing by deleting local data, revoking notification permission, or uninstalling the app.
  • Logs, diagnostics, or subscription data handled by third parties follow those third parties' own retention policies.
  • We may update this policy if the product or third-party services change, and the latest version posted on the website will control.
