Privacy Policy

Learn what CoinBar processes, which third-party services are involved, and how you can manage your data.

Last updated: 2026-04-23

CoinBar is a macOS market monitoring app. We follow a local-first and data-minimization approach wherever practical, and we do not require a CoinBar account for the core app experience.

What CoinBar Handles

  • Data you create in the app, such as watchlists, alert rules, local collection entries you enter yourself, and settings.
  • Technical request information needed to load quotes, icons, and market metadata. Those requests are usually handled by the relevant third-party data source or infrastructure provider.
  • Subscription-related information if you purchase, restore, or manage CoinBar Pro through the website or App Store. Paddle, Apple App Store, and RevenueCat may process subscription status, product information, payment results, invoices, and refund status.
  • Diagnostic information used by Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for baseline analytics and crash reporting.

Local-First and Permissions

  • Most app data is stored primarily on your Mac.
  • CoinBar does not currently provide a CoinBar account system or first-party cloud sync.
  • Notification permission is used only for local price alerts.
  • CoinBar does not require exchange API keys and does not execute trades on your behalf.

Third-Party Services and Data Sources

  • Market quotes, search results, icons, and related metadata may come from Binance, Binance Alpha, OKX, CoinGecko, or later replacement providers.
  • Subscription and checkout functionality may depend on Paddle, Apple App Store, and RevenueCat.
  • Diagnostics and baseline usage analytics currently depend on Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
  • These third parties may process technical data, device data, purchase state, or request logs under their own privacy policies.

Website, Retention, and Updates

  • The current website primarily provides product information, pricing, support information, and legal information. When website checkout goes live, payment card information, tax, invoice, and refund flows are handled by the payment provider, and the CoinBar website does not store full payment card details directly.
  • Hosting, CDN, and infrastructure providers may still process standard technical request data.
  • You can reduce future processing by deleting local data, revoking notification permission, or uninstalling the app.
  • Logs, diagnostics, or subscription data handled by third parties follow those third parties' own retention policies.
  • We may update this policy if the product or third-party services change, and the latest version posted on the website will control.
